Crop an image

Questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is read by your browser and processed on a canvas in the page. It never reaches a server, so nothing is uploaded and no copy is kept anywhere.

Does cropping reduce resolution?

The pixels inside the selection are kept at full density, so the crop is as sharp as the original. It has fewer total pixels simply because it covers less of the scene.

Can I crop to a circle?

The selection is rectangular. For a round avatar, crop to a square here and let the platform apply the circular mask, which is how most of them work anyway.

Can I undo a crop?

Your original file is never modified, so starting again with it is the undo.
